I am available to entertain you or provide elegant background music. Keep me in mind for business functions, private parties, or weddings.
I perform in the Phoenix metropolitan area September--May. From June-August, I perform in Seattle, Washington.
I perform solo, or as a duo or trio, depending on your needs. For large events, or events which require lots of excitement or energy, a bigger group is recommended. Solo guitar is a beautiful way to add elegance and romance to any gathering.
Please email me at elegantspanishguitar@gmail.com (replace the AT with @) to inquire about availability and prices, or call at 602-615-8573.
Thank you for your interest!
BIO
Miguel de Maria is a Spanish guitarist based in
Scottsdale,
AZ. He specializes in playing the solo guitar, a style where the melody and accompaniment are played at the same time, without the help of other musicians. He studied classical guitar throughout his childhood; and studied flamenco in
Seville,
Spain as well as with some of the best players in
Phoenix. Raised in
Honolulu,
Hawaii, Miguel traveled much of his childhood with stops in the Latin American country of
Panama as well as the East Coast,
Midwest, and South of the States.
Miguel’s debut album was released late last year, and he appeared on Jan D’Atri’s show to promote it on Channel 12 in January, 2007. The album features a mixture of popular tunes played with a Spanish feel, traditional flamenco, and classical music from
Spain. Although Miguel primarily plays solo, he has also had the privilege of working with guitarist and composer
Monte Perrault of Mosaico, virturoso flamenco Miguel Rodriguez, flamenco-fusion guitarist Arturo Garibay of Taber and Garibay, and local world music maestro
Eric Zang of Kosmos.
Miguel plays over 100 dates a year in the
Phoenix metropolitan area, at live music venues, corporate events, and has the honor for playing in many wedding ceremonies. He has performed at El Pedregal’s Wine and Jazz festival and nearly every major resort in town, such as the Phoenician, the Princess, the Boulders, the Four Seasons, and the Royal Palms. He has performed as far south as
Nogales, AZ and as far north as Seattle. Miguel is a full-time professional musician.
